BAKER - BAKERACTED Growing up in the early Florida Electronic Dance Music scene, Gary Baker was a witness to ground breaking performances and has experienced many epic moments, which helped form his style as an artist. Always seemingly to be involved on some level he was lucky to get to take part in the many of the premier events of the time. These experiences in addition to being a part-time roadie for Rabbit in the Moon in the late 90’s, he traveled the US as they headlined many of the classic festivals with the top acts of the day. Honing his DJ skills at the house and after parties associated with those events, in the new millenium Baker started to venture out and bring his music to the masses. He got his start opening on the road for DJ Monk and other grassroots gigs and then shortly thereafter was added to the Hallucination DJ roster, becoming a staple act at such themed parties as Hallucination Before Christmas and Blood on the Turntables. After this exposure, he began to get booked at the most influential parties in Florida, including the Art of War series, and the Vibe and Ultra Music festivals. Breaking out as a Drum & Bass DJ, Baker does not limit himself to one genre, he has played out with DnB, Breaks, House, Nu Disco & Dubstep sets as well as all video DVJ sets, and has shared the stage with the who’s who of electronic music too extensive to list. Although from Tampa, Baker also has an Orlando connection, for he has been a featured guest at Torque and played numerous Drop Shop customer appreciation parties... Then in 2010 BAKER dedicated himself bringing Drum & BASS back to Tampa.... This all started by exposing his style of DnB to the new blood in the scene with his performances at Vizion1, NoClubs, AEG & LIVE NATION events at the Ritz all the while still making local appearances at Turbo Tuesdays, Fusion Thursdays, SubSonic Saturdays, Serious Soul and other local Tampa weeklies. Then in 2011 BAKER's dream for DnB in Tampa became reality with the opening the DRUMnBASSment: Tampa's longest running DnB & Drumstep weekly... After becoming the go to DJ to open up for any big DnB or bass music headliner to come thru Tampa... He has gotten to share the stage with the who's who of the International Drum and Bass scene including Andy C, LTJ Bukem, Aprhodite, Roni Size, AK1200, Dieselboy, A-sides, Klute, Craze, Seba, Calyx & Teebee, DJ Shortee, DB, Drumsound & Baseline Smith, Cabbie, Evol Intent, Random Movement, SS, Mampi Swift, Subzero, Blockhead, the Prototypes, Reid Speed, DJ Rap, the Insiders, Reso, Dave Owens, Calculon, Jaybee, Flaco, Empress, Heiss, AnnGree & Empire X... He has also opened for Bass music heavy hitters like Excision, Borgore, Rusko, Feed Me, Mord Fustang, Cookie Monsta, Downlink, Antiserum, Gramatik, Big Gigantic, Caked Up, GTA, Liquid Stranger, Lucky Date, Hulk, We Bang, Sluggo, Nerd Rage, Helicopter Showdown & Juan Basshead... Not limited to Bass music Baker, has also played along side huge artists that have influenced the underground dance music scene such as Rabbit in the Moon, Monk, the Bassbin Twins, Josh Wink, Jackal & Hyde, Thommie Sunshine, Bunny, Three, Damion Lazarus, Dynamix II, Deekline, Uberzone, Mr.C, Keoki, Krafty Kuts & the Plump Dj's...
